I almost exclusively play Switch these days, so my library is jam packed full of first party, AAA, and Indie games. Some games I’ve played to the point that I can’t look at them anymore, and some others are making me want more, but they just don’t have DLC. So while playing Super Mario Party with my fiancée the other day, it had me thinking: which Switch games would I like to see have some DLC? Here’s what I came up with.
Super Mario Party

Super Mario Party is literally the only game I can play with my fiancée that’s not titled Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. However, we’re really bored (not board!) with it now. The mini games are extremely fun, and some of the best in all of the Mario Party games, but only having four playable boards makes the game lose its luster quickly and leaves a lot more to be desired.
Mario Kart 8 DX

Yes, yes–I know with the Switch model being the Deluxe Edition we received all of the Wii U DLC, but we need new tracks with the game being eight years old, and there doesn’t seem to be a new Mario Kart coming anytime soon with the sales still topping the charts. I’d love to see some costumes added as well. Mario Tennis Aces does a great job with giving costumes and characters as rewards for playing tournaments online; I’d love to see Mario Kart do that as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Another chart topper hits my list in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This game was a lot of people’s savior during the Tiger King / stimulus check era, but we all may have played it a little too hard at that time, so we’ve lost interest. My island is 5 stars, has every flower (except those incredibly difficult green mums), a full museum, and is decked out fully how I like it. So, what’s there left to do for me? I’d love to see some new land as a DLC to build on and inhibit. I’d love to see an update to Nook shopping, and I’d love to see some new events stroll through.
Hades

I don’t know how they’d do it, but I need more Hades in my life. This rogue-like finally received the attention it deserved when it was released on Switch in late 2020. Maybe Zagreus can go on a mini adventure in Greece, or maybe you take control of Megaera and fight against Zagreus to keep him in Hades.
