The Wolf Among Us 2 Has a New Trailer, Release Date of 2023

The long anticipated sequel to the 2013 game The Wolf Among Us now has an in-depth trailer, as well as a confirmed release date of “2023.”

Currently, the game is planned to arrive on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and to PC via the Epic Games Store; no mention of a Switch version has been given at this time.

The original game released as an episodic adventure game from Telltale Games, and followed a formula very similar to their other acclaimed titles The Walking Dead, Tales from the Borderlands, and Minecraft: Story Mode, among others.

The game franchise is based on the graphic novel Fables, created by Bill Willingham and first published by Vertigo in 2002. The series largely features various characters from myth and folklore as they attempt to adjust to life among ordinary humans in New York City. The protagonist of the games, and a major character of the comics, is Bigby Wolf, formerly the Big Bad Wolf are fairy tales such as the Three Little Pigs and Red Riding Hood, who serves as the sheriff for the fable community.

Plans for a sequel began shortly after the final episode of the game released in 2014, but commitments to other projects such as Game of Thrones kept Telltale from pursuing it. Doubt that the sequel would see the light of day spread when Telltale shuttered its doors in 2018.

The gaming developer was later acquired by LCG Entertainment in 2019, and has since had a slow revival. During the 2021 Game Awards, a trailer for their latest game based on The Expanse television series was revealed; a confirmation teaser trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2 also premiered at The Game Awards in 2019.
