Confession time! I have never finished a single Legend of Zelda game. Most of my friends have finished at least the first Legend of Zelda or Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I used to be too embarrassed to admit it, but I haven’t done finished those. I will say for Ocarina of Time, I went as far as the infamously difficult Water Temple, but that was pretty much it for me. Do I use a guidebook to help me out through Link’s adventures? Most of the time I don’t.

The Legend of Zelda games are known for their amazing and complex puzzles, as well as their mystery. I would even go as far as to say that without these imaginative puzzles surrounding these games, they probably wouldn’t be considered real Legend of Zelda games. Of course, Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity get a pass with its hack and slash game mechanics. There are times I choose not to use a guide book so I can simply get the thrill of figuring things out on my own, and I would hate to rely on one, which isn’t a bad thing. Other times I use a guidebook is for the simple purpose of finding collectibles all around the game or when things seem absolutely impossible for me to figure out.

Is there a wrong or right way to get into all of Link’s adventures? Definitely not. It’s just a matter of preference on how you want to figure out every clue around the lands of Hyrule and beyond. It’s always great to explore every nook and cranny of Hyrule’s dungeons for extra hearts, weapons, and bottles. Also, who doesn’t get a smile on their face when they hear the infamous clue solving tune that we all know and love? How you get to that point is entirely up to Zelda, I mean Link!
