Indie publisher Annapurna launched Blue Twelve Studio’s Stray on July 19th, available on PlayStation and PC. Little did we know, kitty-cat fever has swept the gaming world–and the numbers prove it.
It has only been 24 hours since its release, and Steam’s concurrent player count peaked at 62,963. To put this in perspective, Annapurna’s highest number of concurrent players on Steam up until this point were:
- Twelve Minutes: 8,021
- Outer Wilds: 7,936
- Neon White: 3,277
- Journey: 1,757
Stray also can stand its own with other AAA counterparts with only twelve other titles being played more, including FIFA 22, Grand Theft Auto, and Apex Legends.
Stray is available for PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium members for ,free, and costs $29.99 USD. Also, physical copies will be available later this year, including an exclusive edition from iam8bit.
