SEGA has unveiled Sonic Origins Plus, which will develop and extend additional classic Sonic games for current systems when it comes on Sonic’s birthday, June 23.
SEGA has confirmed a physical version, which includes a 20-page art book and reversible cover sleeve with never-before-seen artwork. Pre-orders for both digital and physical editions are now open.
It will feature four games in one package from Sonic Origins (Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD). Origins Plus will contain an additional 12 Sonic games from Game Gear.

- Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
- Sonic Blast
- Sonic Chaos
- Sonic Drift
- Sonic Drift 2
- Sonic Labyrinth
- Sonic Spinball
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble
- Tails Adventure
- Tails’ Sky Patrol
It also adds Amy as a playable character in Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3 and Sonic CD, a playable Knuckles in Sonic CD.
There will be several modes, zones, challenges, and Classic Mode, giving the original Sonic games a retro style and traditional difficulties. Anniversary mode has a full-screen display and endless lives, ensuring no game overs.
Existing Sonic Origins owners can purchase the Sonic Origins Plus expansion pack for $9.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on June 23. If you don’t already own the initial release of Sonic Origins, the digital/physical version of Sonic Origins Plus will be available for $39.99.
