Dimension 20 starts the fourth episode of Mentopolis with pressure high and The Fix trapped. Though tensions are high, Brennan focuses first on Oblongata Station where Imelda Pulse and Anastasia Tension trick the Station Master, Max Medula.

The creative cousins trick Max, rolling incredibly well to keep him from recognizing Imelda. When everyone else but The Fix arrives, they discover that the sensations near Elias’s crotch are what they had hoped: a way to save their lives.

As they use their keys to save Elias Hodge’s life, police converge and Dan Fucks absolutely fails in his distraction attempt. As the Shock Troopers converge, Imelda takes control while her cousin does what Dan couldn’t, continuing Danielle’s and Siobhan’s wonderful coordinated front.

Conrad makes the questionable decision of announcing his presence while calling out Mayor Logic. With The Fix in trouble and having lied about killing Conrad, this brave choice also seems foolhardy, especially as it attracts Don Avaricci’s men.

Considering Flight’s confirmed Fawn, another of the four reflexes, is with Avaricci, the choice to go with the police instead seems poorly thought out. When dealing with upper management and continuing Elias Hodge’s fight for life, Fawn seems like somebody you’d want around, but as long as they have Conrad, Avaricci’s men are sure to follow, so perhaps they haven’t lost their chance yet though they certainly lost time.

The Fix makes his escape, but the choice to flee through the window parallels Elias Hodge’s situation, connecting him only for a moment. His desperate attempt to calm the pressure turns against him, but even as Elias shits himself, The Fix manages his goal, lowering the pressure down into the green.

The players part ways, and The Fix reunites with Dan and Hunch, realizing that Elias Hodge wasn’t thrown but jumped out of the window to escape.

An incredible roll puts the rest of our crew right in front of Mayor Logic, who Conrad reveals is actually Freeze. This is a stroke of luck as Freeze manages to ensure Elias is in position to break through a window and get back on solid ground.

Highlights

Danielle and Siobhan go strong from the start. They bounce quips off each other, falling into a tag team of hilarity. Their dynamic remains a perfect balance of antagonism and support.

As always, Hank Green remains a delight. The Fix’s situation isn’t resolved until almost an hour into the episode, denying us his fact-driven drawl for some time. However, when he comes in, he plays hard and pulls Elias Hodge back from the brink.

Freddie’s voice for Dan Fucks is still grating, but his plotting with Justin Fication is hilarious. Pleasure and justification fit perfectly together. Another unexpected perfect pairing includes The Fix and the evidence locker clerk, Pasha N. The tension between them was scorching!

Final Score (4 out of 5 Stars)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Ice skates represent a massive turning point for Elias Hodge, and now we have a name thanks to Pasha N who revealed her deceased brother, Ichabod Iceskates was the owner of Conrad’s ice skates. Though the specifics remain a mystery, The Fix’s reaction and the information we have paint a dark picture. However, as the ice skate remain, I can’t help but wonder if we might see a concept reform.
