The Solstice event has returned to Destiny 2, bringing everyone’s favorite Summer Grandma, Eva Levante, and the Solstice Forge back to the Tower through August 19 to close out the summer season.

This year’s Solstice brings several updates to the annual event. Guardians will still work toward completing and upgrading a full set of Solstice armor using the Solstice Forge. With the updated armor and stat systems introduced in The Edge of Fate expansion, this will be a great chance for Guardians to earn gear that can significantly enhance their current builds and loadouts.
The biggest change, however, is the retirement of the Bonfire Bash activity. In its place, Guardians will take on the updated Portal activities, now featuring rotating Solar modifiers. These modifiers rotate daily in matchmaking and introduce effects such as explosive Solar Flares that can be passed between players, along with class ability healing. One modifier, Hot Potato, remains active every day, while the others rotate regularly or can be selected in custom difficulty settings.
A new Crucible playlist has also been added for the event. Solstice Scorched brings Scorch Cannons into traditional PvP modes, including Clash, Control, and Rift.
Event rewards, like a Solstice-themed emblem, a new Ghost shell, and Holofoil weapons, can be earned through completing different challenges. Featured weapons include the new Yeartide Apex Solar SMG, Festival Flight Strand Grenade Launcher, and the returning Fortunate Star Void Bow. Guardians can purchase weapons, engrams (up to Tier 4 based on Guardian Rank), Glimmer stacks, and Enhancement Cores from the revamped rewards shop. Eververse also offers paid Solstice-themed cosmetics, including pool-party–themed armor sets available during the event.
The Bungie Store is celebrating Solstice with a special sale running from August 5 to 19, featuring limited-time discounts on Destiny-themed items like the NERF LMTD Ace of Spades Blaster, The Art of Destiny Vol. 3, and the Floating Traveler Lamp. Each order includes the exclusive “Sunburst” emblem, and eligible purchases in the US, EU, and UK qualify for flat-rate shipping at $7.77 USD.
