The life sim game Pokémon Pokopia launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 today, and with it comes the first of hopefully many limited-time events where players can claim special rewards and exclusive Pokémon.
“The More Spores for Hoppip” special event adds the adorable Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff creatures to the game, and to the horror of aspiring Trainers everywhere, these Pokémon cannot be encountered outside of the limited-time event.

Fans of the Pokémon series are no stranger to such events in other recent games in the franchise, as the developers have relied heavily on making special Pokémon have limited availability in ensuring gamers keep playing long after the credits roll, as well as to encourage participation in social activities.
The event doesn’t just add Pokemon either, but also several exclusive items. Special cotton spores will spawn within your settlement, and once collected, they can be exchanged for picnic-themed furniture items, which seem to be a favorite for both Skiploom and Jumpluff.
It should be noted that players will need to advance to a certain point in the story to gain access to these special features, as the event won’t begin until gamers have a rebuilt Pokemon Center. In addition, the event won’t be available in the multiplayer Cloud Islands.
Fans will have until 12:59pm PT on Tuesday, March 24 to access the event and claim the three Pocket Monsters to their cozy little village.

Furthermore. players can also claim a special Ditto rug, which will only be available until January 31, 2027. This early adoption present can be obtained by choosing “Get via Internet” from the Mystery Gifts menu.
Pokémon Pokopia is a spin-off of the long running Pokémon franchise, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The game is the first Switch 2 exclusive game in the series, and casts players as a Ditto imitating a human, with the goal of rebuilding a desolate island to a Pokémon paradise. The game launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 today.
