Still fresh from release, I couldn’t help but imagine what DLC would look like as soon as I rolled credits to Resident Evil Requiem. The ninth mainline title of one of the most recognizable franchises in the industry has captured the hearts of fans and casual players alike. For those that have played it such as myself, we noticed how the game leaves a lot of possibilities for DLC. So, if Capcom ever plans for DLC, what do you think it would look like?
There’s no guarantee there will be DLC; however, it’s at least a safe bet that the odds are in our favor based off precedence. Recent titles such as Resident Evil remakes of 2 and 4, as well as Resident Evil 7 and 8 have notable DLC like Ghost Survivors, Separate Ways, Banned Footage, and Shadows of Rose. I can’t imagine Capcom skipping additional content for Requiem, which simultaneously celebrates their 30th anniversary and has already achieved impressive sales numbers.
While there is no proof to base my personal thoughts off, I have a few ideas that I think would be a lot of fun. Most of my ideas revolve around following an entirely different character during the same time period. The character I believe that is the best candidate is an individual who I honestly thought would’ve made an appearance: Ada Wong. I didn’t expect (nor want) her to have a major role in this game, but given her consistent pairing with Leon, I at least hoped to witness her lurk in the shadows and maybe toss him a rocket launcher. Regardless, exploring any of the locations as Ada would provide that romantic tension with Leon, especially as he deteriorates near the end. In addition, her past motives can logically place her back in Raccoon City to also search for Elpis at the ARK. She also could address a tiny but significant hint at the end of the game that many players noticed: [Minor Spoiler Alert incoming] Leon Kennedy appears to place a ring on his ring finger. There is also a ring in concept art. Whether she could be revealed as his wife or react to his marital status as a single woman would blow our minds.

Another character could be Jill Valentine. She’s a Resident Evil veteran that many fans hoped would make it into Requiem, and perhaps it’s not too late. Jill could be working separately yet in close proximity to Leon. Oddly enough, there were mentions of both Jill and Ada in some data mining of Resident Evil Requiem; however, that could have been potential builds for the main game but ultimately removed.
What about Chris Redfield—sorry— Captain Redfield? He would make another fine addition to Resident Evil Requiem DLC since [Minor Spoiler Alert incoming] he was mentioned during Leon and Grace’s rescue from the ARK in the end. Potential DLC could take us through what Redfield is up to, especially with what the post-credits allude to. Also, any of these above characters could also interact with one or both antagonists, further fleshing out their personalities and history.
Lastly, we could pivot and put ourselves in the shoes of Emily or the Girl. One of the most terrifying sections of the game was a flashback to playing as a young child trying to escape the Orphanage. I wouldn’t mind entering such a vulnerable perspective again and see what it’s like to live at the Rhodes Hill. Perhaps Emily or the Girl once tried to escape. Maybe they saw horrific experiments that taught them this was not the kind of place they were told. A shift in perspective with existing characters in the game would be fun and impactful.

If Capcom does roll out DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, what would you want to see? Another character or something more along the lines of a Missionary mode? Please share your thoughts with us on our Boss Rush Facebook Group or our Boss Rush Discord.
