Mathijs de Jonge, game director at Guerrilla, released a post on PlayStation’s blog commemorating the first anniversary of Horizon Forbidden West.
“It’s been heart-warming to see the impact Aloy and her story have had on you, and we are so grateful for how our community expresses love and joy for our franchise,” the post read.
De Jonge also announced the release of celebratory Horizon avatars starting February 18.

He included a special message from the team at Guerrilla, who spoke on the anniversary and their love of the franchise and its fans.
The post ends with a reminder of the upcoming release of Horizon Call of the Mountain on PS VR2 and the release of the Horizon Forbidden West DLC, Burning Shores. The DLC releases on April 17.
This commemoration comes on the heels of Sony announcing the addition of Horizon Forbidden West to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus.
