Alan Wake II’s newest patch, live as of December 11th, introduces a new game plus mode which has been given its own subtitle, The Final Draft, featuring a new “nightmare” difficulty, new content, and a new ending. Players will also keep all unlocked videos, charms and upgrades from the base game.
This patch comes as part of the last post-game update of 2023. Along with the new content, the patch features numerous fixes to performance, audio, visuals, and stability. This the eighth patch to be released since the game’s launch October 27, 2023.
Remedy Entertainment says that the next patch will be released in 2024 and have “a few much-requested features”.
Alan Wake II is developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games. Remedy Entertainment is a Finnish developer that has developed a huge following with games like Control, and the Max Payne series, and, of course, the first Alan Wake.
