Predator: Hunting Grounds, the 1v4 asymmetrical multiplayer experience from IllFonic, will receive major content updates in 2024 and 2025. In addition, the game will release on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. IllFonic is the new publisher of its game, in collaboration with 20th Century Games.
The April 2.49 update is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC: this update improves player movement, Predator and Fireteam weapon balance, the UX, and more. New Predators are expected to arrive in winter this year, and more in spring 2025. The game is expected to be a next-gen experience running on Unreal 4.27, Vivox, and Wwise. The Xbox and PlayStation 5 releases will have a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition.
Importantly, crossplay will be expanded to support the new platforms.
“This game has a strong, enthusiastic player base and a vocal community that wants to see the game updated and supported,” said Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic. “Now that IllFonic is publishing games, we knew we had to get Predator: Hunting Grounds back. We knew we needed to get back to the Chopper!”
The expected schedule is as follows:
- April 2024: Patch 2.49 will cover the currently released PS4 and PC: Steam / Epic versions of Predator: Hunting Grounds. The focus is on player movement, Fireteam weapon rework and balance, Predator weapon balance, and UX/playability improvements. Full details will be found in the patch notes.
- Late 2024: Xbox Series X|S, PS5 Release. This release is focused on next-gen running on Unreal 4.27, Vivox, and Wwise, with a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition offered.
- Winter Release, 2024: New Predators
- Spring Release, 2025: Additional new Predators
