The latest Final Fantasy XIV expansion is dropping at the end of the month, and it looks absolutely stunning. However, we all know that the game looking fantastic in trailers doesn’t always mean your PC will hold up. Looking to test if your PC can handle the Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail ? We’ll take you step by step to get the benchmark set up.
Step 1: Go to the Final Fantasy XIV benchmark page.
This page contains the benchmark file you need, information to know before use, and how to parse the information that the benchmark will give you.
Step 2: Download and uncompress the .zip file.
You’ll want to scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the gold download button.
You’ll be taken to a “before you download page”, because it’s vital that you understand that this is not the game proper. Go ahead and agree to the EULA, get that download started. On my computer, it went to my downloads folder, but this may be different for you.
You’ll need to decompress the .zip file so you can launch the .exe file within. Left click on the .zip file and designate a specific destination to save the unzipped files.
Step 3: Run the .exe file
You’ll want to look for the file labeled “ffxiv-dawntrail-bench.exe.” Launch that bad boy, and pick the language you want to use. Read through the Software License Agreement, and you’re ready to run the benchmark.
