Swedish Machines, an all-new narrative art book from Simon Stålenhag will launch on Kickstarter on August 27, from Free League Publishing. The art book is a coming of age tale which spans decades, “taking readers to weird new worlds.”

Stålenhag’s most ambitious work to date, Swedish Machines will be bound and printed to the highest standard. It is a tale of friendship, love, and maturing in an alternate world. Swedish Machines spans the ‘90s, ‘00s, and beyond, and transports readers to the Svartlöten Exclusion Zone to uncover the weird secrets within it.

Simon Stålenhag (b. 1984) is the internationally acclaimed author and artist behind Tales From the Loop, Things From the Flood, The Electric State, and The Labyrinth. His highly imaginative images and stories depicting illusive sci-fi phenomena in mundane, hyper-realistic Scandinavian and American landscapes have made Stålenhag one of the most sought-after visual storytellers in the world.

Swedish Machines will be available on Kickstarter on August 27.
