Five new Zelda themed amiibo figures are coming soon, and will be compatible with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as well as the upcoming Age of Imprisonment.
Four of the figures–based on Tears of the Kingdom’s guardians Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju–will arrive on June 5, 2025, the same day that the Nintendo Switch 2 console hits store shelves.
A fifth amiibo representing Mineru’s Construct “Minergolem” will also be coming at a later date, although no screenshots of the final product seem to be available.
While not displayed during today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct officially, these new figures were shared directly after the showcase on Nintendo of America’s official social media channels, as well as on their official website. Nintendo confirms that each of these figures will unlock a unique fabric for Link’s paraglider, as well as weapons and materials within Tears of the Kingdom. It is unknown at this time exactly how they will work with the upcoming Age of Imprisonment game.
Speaking of which, the Direct did reveal that a brand new title in the Hyrule Warriors franchise is coming. Titled Age of Imprisonment, the game is developed in partnership with Koei Tecmo games, and is a follow-up to similar games Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity, both of which borrowed gameplay elements from the Dynasty Warriors franchise.
This, along with the announcement that new Street Fighter 6 themed amiibos are also releasing soon, should be welcome news for all fans of amiibo products. While Nintendo has been far more limited in releasing new figures in recent years, it doesn’t seem like the collectible and useful figurines are going anywhere anytime soon.
