Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire dropped some exciting news for Season 3 at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, including a title change for the series in honor of the 1985 novel, The Vampire Lestat, a trailer, and anticipated cast announcements.
Here’s why you should be excited for The Vampire Lestat, which is in production and coming to AMC+ in 2026.
The trailer unveils a sneak peek into the rock star life that Lestat indulges in. Sam Reid (Lestat) discusses what fans can expect and details what he’s learned during the filming of Season 3. The visuals are stunning, jaw dropping, and everything fans have been waiting for after the second season’s end.
On top of that, the show is set to feature a stellar cast that will further bring the world to life.
Additionally, the show’s press conference panel revealed that Eric Bogosian, Jacob Anderson, Delainey Hayles, Assad Zaman, and of course Reid will be returning to their original roles in the next season with Christopher Heyerdahl (Marius), Damien Atkins (Magnus), Jeanine Serralles (Christine Claire), Ella Ballentine (Baby Jenks), and Jennifer Ehle (Gabriella) joining the talented lineup.

For any Twilight fans out there, you might recognize Christopher Heyerdahl. He portrayed the Volturi’s Marcus in the saga’s two part finale, Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The actor also played a vampire, Dieter Braun, in HBO’s True Blood during its fifth season. Heyerdahl isn’t a stranger to vampiric tales, making his performance as Marius in the third season of Interview with the Vampire highly anticipated. A familiar face could be the motivation you need to catch up to AMC’s gothic horror series.

Speaking of familiar faces, Game of Thrones fanatics will surely recognize one of the leads, Jacob Anderson, who played Grey Worm for six seasons of the show’s run. His portrayal of Louis de Pointe du Lac is one for the books. The British actor and musician is beyond talented. Playing a character as layered as Louis is no easy feat yet he masterfully does so. You simply have to see for yourself.

With the new electrifying sneak peeks, this underrated television show is due for new eyes. Season 1 and 2 were filled with dramatic, emotional, and high stake moments that turned me into a fan instantly. I’m sure Season 3 will be just as amazing if not more. Reid and Anderson’s on and off screen chemistry is intoxicating, bound to capture the hearts of anyone watching. The entire cast easily slips into the characters’ minds that they depict with some fans repeating the sentiment that Sam Reid gets possessed by Lestat when the cameras start rolling.

Vampires are back in action and we’re in a new era. If you loved the recent horror films Nosferatu (2024) and Sinners (2025), Interview with the Vampire is definitely a taste you’re craving. Don’t miss out on this generation’s revival of vampire thrillers, showcasing stories of love, betrayal, and fear.
