How to Find and Catch Pichu in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Who knew that Game Freak could stuff over 200 Pokémon in the city setting of Lumiose City for Pokémon Legends: Z-A? With alleyways, Wild Zones, and roof tops, we’re here to help you locate and catch ’em all. Today, we will show you where you can find and catch adorable Pichu!

You can catch Pichu pretty early on the in game, and it’s a matter of location and stealth:

Head to Wild Zone 1

Pichu can be found where the red star is notated below in Wild Zone 1, located in the South Boulevard of the map and near Hotel Z. There are a total of four entrances, although if you’re hunting Pichu in the early parts of the game, you will likely be entering via the eastern entrances.

Head toward the body of water at the western end of Zone 1. Use Rock Smash against the piles of rocks that are obstructing the entrance to the fenced in area.

You will see Pichu on the other side of the body of water. To your right, there will be a ladder.

Climb up the ladder and cross the rooftop toward the otherside.

Be Sure to Sneak Up Quietly!

Pichu is very skittish, so we sure to wait when it’s not facing your direction, then drop to the portion where there is tall grass:

Pichu is not a Pokémon you should fight. If it spots you, it will vanish, and it takes considerable time before it spawns again. Hide in the grass and approach until its within striking distance with a Poke Ball. A standard Poke Ball works fine.
