At first, I thought it was another bad leak, purely based on rumors or generative AI. Leon was long desired and rumored to appear in the 9th mainline installment of Resident Evil, and Capcom has tried hard to remain tight-lipped and to control expectations; however, this is no drill.
When I saw these alerts on X (formerly, Twitter), I ran downstairs to my PlayStation 5 and pre-ordered Resident Evil: Requiem. Once I paid, the pre-download screen shows Leon Kennedy as part of the cover image. This Leon is much older and scruffier, and we have yet to learn his role in the game.

This leak, intentional or not, comes days before the 2025 Game Awards, in which Capcom advertised more news on Resident Evil: Requiem. The Game Awards will be live this Thursday, December 11th at 4:30 P.M. PST. You can click on the link below to watch it when the time comes:
