PAX East 2026
Limited Run’s next release drops tomorrow, March 27th: MARVEL MaXimum Collection, and the team at Boss Rush Network sampled the experience at PAX East.
This collection features several games in the MARVEL universe:
- X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
- Captain America and The Avengers (Arcade, MEGA, 8-bit)
- Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage (SUPER, MEGA)
- Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety (SUPER, MEGA)
- Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge (SUPER, MEGA, PORTABLE, GEAR)
- Silver Surfer (8-Bit)

As usual, the team at Limited Run not only curated these titles from the 90s but also added quality of life improvements including rewind, save states, additional display options (including CRT filters), additional music, digital art archive, and online multiplayer support for the X-Men: The Arcade Game.
The Boss Rush Network team got to experience X-Men: The Arcade Game in all its glory. The retro art style popped on screen, and our spines tingled as we added virtual “coins” for that arcade experience. Of course, this title was more fun with a friend as we punched, kicked, and blasted our way through waves of baddies. The Carbon Engine did the game justice to deliver the ultimate nostalgic experience.
Right when we thought it felt “easier” than the actual arcade game from the days of old, we got our butts handed to us. We witnessed defeat, but the modern features removed the frustrations that otherwise would’ve been experienced. This brief demo solidified Limited Run’s stamp of quality to this collection, and we look forward to its official release tomorrow!
As we played the demo, we enjoyed conversing with the Limited Run team and their continued passion for bringing beloved classics to modern platforms, and we also learned that MARVEL was an enthusiastic partner. And I think we can agree that passion for the franchise is a vital ingredient for a top tier gaming experience.

MARVEL MaXimum Collection will be available for pre-order tomorrow through May 24th on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Purchase includes a sticker sheet and booklet.
