Boss Rush Banter: Which is the Best First Person Shooter?

First Person Shooters (FPS) exploded on to the scene with the PC era back in the 1990’s. As time passed on, Nintendo and Microsoft changed the genre with the respectable games of Goldeneye 64 and Halo. Now, in the modern age of gaming, FPS, while still popular, doesn’t hold the weight like it did 2 generations ago, but it still has some titles that surpasses our expectations. For me, I think the best FPS that’s currently playable has to be Titanfall 2.

Your Next 'Titanfall 2' Update Will Have Some Awesome Additions

Titanfall 2 released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 28, 2016, the Respawn developed title follows in the footsteps of the Xbox One and 360 debut of the series. Now, with a more focused campaign and an addictive multiplayer mode, Titanfall 2 delivered an experience that felt engaging. This installment of Titanfall newly incorporated the wall running mechanic, the useful arsenal of weapons, and controlling your Titan felt comfortable.

What makes it the best current playable FPS, is the campaign itself. This campaign puts you in the role of a militia rifleman named Jack Cooper, and your partner BT-7274, who is also known as just “BT”. BT is a character that can act on his own, or you can ride him like a Titan through battle. The core of Titanfall 2’s new story is exploring the bond between pilots and titans, and without revealing too much, the plot has some twist and turns, emotional beats, funny dialogue, and excellent combat.

Titanfall 2 Will Have Single Player Campaign Says Lead Writer

With Apex Legends taking place in the Titanfall universe, they incorporated some of the elements of Titanfall 2 into Apex Legends, all while still being a battle royale where anyone can jump into and enjoy. Now that it’s being marketed again, Titanfall 2 is finding a place with FPS players and casual gamers all alike who missed it the first time.

Even I, who owns the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, have jumped into some matches and even revisited the campaign 5 years after release. It’s so delightful to have a game that stands out on its own. It has such a captivating performance in the voice acting, and the thrill of battles against other Titans just makes Titanfall 2 the best. Ever since the Metroid Prime Trilogy I haven’t felt enthralled to pick up a controller and just enjoy a FPS game that stuck with me.

If you haven’t played Titanfall 2, I highly recommend that you do. It’ll give you a better understanding of Apex Legends, but also can give any FPS out there a run for its money when it comes to story, characters, use of guns, and suspenseful multiplayer matches. This is why I feel that Titanfall 2 is the best FPS currently playable.
