Nickelodeon and Paramount plan to release three Avatar: The Last Airbender movies starting in 2025. The first one is set to release on Paramount+ and in theaters on October 10th, 2025, which is a long way away so we don’t know much about what the movies will look like or the story they will tell.
The project is simply referred to as “Untitled Aang Avatar Film,” and is set to be directed by Lauren Montgomery. All three films will be developed under Avatar Studios, which has a goal to create an original series or movies set in the worlds of The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra series.
Also returning to assist on the project are series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino as well as Eric Coleman the executive producer. Some of the creators stepped away from the live-action adaptation that Netflix is creating, so we don’t know how this will differ. We shall wait and see what is to come.
