The League of Legends universe is set to undergo a colossal transformation as Season 2024 dawns upon us.

Brace yourselves summoners for myriad groundbreaking alterations that will roll out over the year. This includes map terrain adjustments; the introduction of menacing new monsters; and a trove of revamped items.

Revamped Terrain and Strategic Shifts

First things first: the Rift’s landscapes have been substantially reshaped. Top lane has seen a distinctive overhaul, including altered walls and a pivotal relocation of the brush to the river’s heart. These modifications aim to challenge jungle incursions, granting top laners a more focused battle against their lane opponents.

Mid-lane also undergoes a significant facelift. The adjusted walls on both red and blue sides coupled with repositioned brush provide better symmetry and a safer environment for champions, particularly the mage cohort lacking dashes.

Moreover, strategic routes between lanes have been fortified with improved walls adjacent to Baron and dragon pits. The bottom lane receives a new gank path on the Red side, enhancing symmetry and fostering increased competition for vision control.

Enter the Void: New Monsters and Rift Dynamics

The arrival of Voidgrubs, an early-game menace residing within the Baron pit, marks a paradigm shift. Eliminating these grubs yields incremental buffs, empowering teams with turret-damaging capabilities. Successful eradication unlocks a crescendo of power, fostering tactical gameplay choices and a strategic edge.

Rift Herald, with a striking new appearance, introduces a twist this season. Teams can choose to commandeer its charge, utilizing it as a battering ram against turrets or enemy champions. But beware, collision detaches the driver, setting a cooldown period for the steering ability.

Baron Nashor’s resurgence comes with variations in forms, each shaping its pit and influencing combat dynamics. The Void’s spread — impacting Scuttle Crab, Bramblebush, and Sentinel — offers bolstered challenges and rewards upon their defeat.
