Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Makes Big at DICE Awards 2022

In case you missed it, the 25th annual DICE Awards took place February 24th, and the dueling Lombaxes from Sony Interactive Entertainment were the big winners from the show.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart took home four awards, among them the award for “Outstanding Achievement in Animation”. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart also had the honors of being the game with the most award nominations in an impressive list of other standout titles which included It Takes Two, Halo Infinite, Resident Evil Village, Forza Horizon 5, Deathloop, and Returnal.

Speaking of Returnal and Deathloop, those PlayStation exclusives managed to win awards as well. Returnal nabbed awards for both “Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition” and “Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design” while Deathloop received the award for “Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction”. Kena: Bridge of Spirits, which had three nominations of its own, walked away without any awards from the big night.

Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two would round out the show taking home two awards including the coveted “Game of The Year” award continuing the game’s spectacular run on the awards circuit.

It was a great night for Sony Interactive Entertainment’s releases of the past year overall. With Horizon Forbidden West already released, Gran Turismo 7 on the way, and more knockout titles like God of War Ragnarok promised, here’s to seeing what good fortunes 2022 will bring to Sony Interactive and Sony Studios in the upcoming awards circuit.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was released on June 11, 2021, while Returnal was released on April 30, 2021. Both games are available now exclusively for PlayStation 5. Kena: Bridge of Spirits was released on September 21, 2021, and is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. It Takes Two is was released on March 26, 2021, and is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC.
