Nintendo was true to their word with providing direct-to-consumer news updates with a huge announcement only one day after the app, Nintendo Today!, went live. In a very brief trailer, Nintendo announced the date of their Legend of Zelda movie.
The Legend of Zelda movie will be available worldwide March 26th, 2027. This is approximately ten years since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released, although details on what title the movie will be based on, if at all, remains to be seen. The casting is also still unknown; however, suffice it to say, if you are a Zelda fan and haven’t downloaded the Nintendo Today! app, you better do so now.
One more thing to note, old-school chiptune Zelda music played during this 25-second trailer, which leads me to believe that sticking true to the original franchise identity is in the forefront of the moviemaker’s mind.
