Nintendo has confirmed casting for the two central characters in their upcoming The Legend of Zelda live action film adaptation. The series hero Link will be played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, whereas the titular Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth of Nottingham, England, is 16 years old and has most notably starred in the Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor, released in 2020. He has only been acting since 2018, and stepping into the shoes of Hyrule’s hero will be a major role for him.
21 year old Bo Bragason is from Chicester, England. Set to play Princess Zelda, aside from a child role in 2007, she fully debuted in the industry a bit before Ainsworth in 2016, and has landed a number of small roles including in BBC One’s “The Jetty”, as well as starring in the Disney+ series Renegade Nell and the 2024 vampire film The Radleys. Notably she is not entirely new to the video game scene, as she was involved in 2016’s Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV spinoff film, as the 3D scan and motion capture base for the character Luna, in her youth.
The Legend of Zelda is coming to theaters on May 7th, 2027.
