Mario Paint is Now Available on Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Music

Mario Paint for the SNES has been added to Nintendo Switch Online, as well as Nintendo Music. Players can now both play and listen to the game on the go. This comes via an update by Nintendo.

Originally played with the SNES’s mouse attachment, Mario Paint can utilize Joy-Con 2 mouse controls to replicate those features, as well as compatible USB mice.

Additionally, the sweet sounds of the Super Nintendo’s Mario Paint can now be heard on Nintendo’s Music App. The whimsical soundtrack was composed by Hirokazu Tanaka, Ryoji Yoshitomu, and Kazumi Totaka. It brings 28 minutes of new music to the app, across 19 different tracks. There is a “Gnat Attack” playlist featuring music featured in the relevant minigame, as well as the traditional Extended-Playback playlist that allows for extended listening of certain songs.

The 1992 SNES title was a game all about self-expression and creating your own art using the likeness of Nintendo characters. It allows players to paint pictures, compose music, engage in mini-games, and more.

Mario Paint can be accessed through Nintendo Switch Online’s Super Nintendo category. It is available to all NSO subscribers without the need of the additional Expansion Pass. Nintendo Music can be downloaded on Android and iOS devices. While the music can be listened to at no extra cost, the service does require an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to access.

Are you excited to play Mario Paint again, or potentially for the first time? What would you like to see next? Let us know in the comments below!
