Gen Con 2025 featured updates on a pair of games slated to make their debuts in 2026: the tabtletop game Gone to Gaia and the PC game Frosthaven.

Rose Gauntlet Entertainment is still crowdfunding its inaugural game Gone to Gaia, a unique rogue-like RPG. Gone to Gaia is a story-building experience that draws inspiration from the post-apocalyptic settings of Hades and Vampire: Survivor. In the game, Earth has taken its vengeance on mankind’s pollution in the form of the Tide, a toxic miasma that spreads throughout the planet and leaves survivors hanging on a Great Tree.

Players take on the role of the Delvers, those who venture down into the Tide with airtight dive-suits and powerful weapons to repel the monstrosities that dwell within. It’s more than just combat. Players will follow a story in a chapter book filled, explore the Trees inhabitants as they make friends, and forge alliances with its denizens.

When asked what players can expect in the game, the game’s creator Desinrr, recommends players, “Get lost in the mist, it is a super immersive, very cooperative game!”

Crowdfunding for Gone to Gaia ends in October, with a release expected sometime in 2026.

On the digital side of things, Cephalofair Games has recently released a digital version of its hit turn-based RPG Frosthaven on Steam. This turn based, card-collector RPG revolves around a fantasy setting where players venture to the northern fringes in hopes of maintaining and protecting a civilization amidst a wide array of enemies, beasts, and monsters that come for you. Survive or crumble as the harsh conditions set in on your winter-covered wastes as you carry on.

The company states it has decided to make the board game completely digital, almost a one-to-one rendition of the game with an emphasis on gameplay rather than story. With new heroes you can take the role of such as the Deathwalker, or the Boneshaper. The game studio also brought on the creator of XCOM Julien Gollop, who helped in designing the mechanics for Frosthaven digital.

Frosthaven is set for early access in 2026, though Cephalofair Games hasn’t committed to a console release.
