We here at Boss Rush Network had the opportunity to look into what was voted the most-anticipated game of Gen Con 2025.
North Star Games has announced their newest game called Nature, a deck-building board game where you customize your own animal to last the longest in this survival of the fittest experience. You start by usually collecting food at the Watering Hole, but you may adapt and try to become a carnivore and attack the other player’s animal. You can add traits like claws or faster legs to adapt to the environment around you.

You can pre-order two expansion sets to release with it, Nature Flight and Nature Jurassic. Scott Rencher, one of the Heads of NorthStar, explained the difference between the two, noting that “Flight is a more docile, not combat orientated version of Nature, where you don’t necessarily fight the other players. Jurassic on the other hand is very much a combat orientated, kill or be killed style of play.”
When asked what players can expect from a game like Nature, Rencher also said, “We have been making this kind of game for ten years, and it has a lot of good arts and themes associated with it. In previous editions it was a brutal game, but we added more rules and streamlined a lot of the process for to be more accessible to newer players. Rules such as new modifications to your animal, and etc.”
Nature is set for pre-orders with an expected release date in August of 2025, along with their digital release soon to be made available as well.
