Another year, another PAX, and the Boss Rush Network team is reporting to you from Boston, MA. Walking that fine line between staying busy while not burning out was at the top of our minds, but the team finished the first day strong. Check out each team member’s highlights of the day. What were our favorites? What stood out? Follow us during our journey through PAX East 2026!

Brendan – Writer
My first (ever) day at PAX East was a lot of fun and honestly went by in a flash; I started off springing for a limited-edition bomber jacket from Double Fine Studios, followed by a quick chat with some of the fine folks at Noisy Pixel. I then roamed around the expo hall to find my footings and tried a few demos, with Bubsy 4D being a true surprise standout. I mean, a Bubsy game that is genuinely a joy to control was not on my PAX bingo card.
Outside of that, I held my first ever interview with Yangyang Mobile covering their game High Times. They were a joy to talk with, and I felt like I could’ve hung out with them at their booth all day; I’m excited to share the contents of that interview within the next couple of days.
Pat – Chief Gaming Officer
My first day at PAX was relatively relaxed, and I spent most of my day reconnecting with old friends and developers that I haven’t seen in a while. To me, PAX is more about the connections and seeing the community come together to celebrate geek culture.

On the gaming front, I finally got to play Double Fine’s Keeper, which was beautiful. I also played about two-thirds of the X-Men: The Arcade Game with Steph. It’s nice not having to lose a lot of quarters to play that game. Thank you Limited Run for bringing that back to modern consoles!
Courtney – Social Media Director
Day one in the books! I hate how fast this time has flown already! Merch to panels is all I did. Do I regret spending the amount of money I did? No. Would I do it again? Absolutely. What I will cherish about PAX East is the connections that bring communities together, from cosplay to demos. Like playing Royalty: Free for All to deep diving stories that make games like Grave Seasons, PAX is where you can find it.

Ed – Host of Nintendo Pow Block
PAX East 2026 day one has been an impactful day. Not only did I got talk with some amazing people, I got to start my day off with my Boss Rush crew as we talked about Silent Hill. Oh, I will get the breakfast pics in (lol).
During media hour, I got to catch up with AAAA team about Royalty: Free-For-All. The game still looks beautiful and runs smoothly. I got to check out the three new characters: Toto, Col. Bean, and Piglet. It was so cool to see. Also, I got an interview with the director, Colin.
Next, Stephanie and I checked out Nekomancer of Nothing, and it’s a cute puzzle cat game. It has a mixture of Okami and Omen of Sorrow mixed together for some gameplay elements. I also got to check out a variety of games like Grave Seasons, Spider Lily, and Fractured Blooms.

Out of the whole experience, my interview with Jeremy from Limited Run games was such an experience. Having Pat and Stephanie in the room made it a wonderful and touching experience that I will cherish.
Outside of that, I had some pulled pork mac-n-cheese, which was delicious, and some pork beef ramen. I am hyped for day two and can’t wait for more games and interviews.
Steph – VP of Media Relations, Copy Editor
I took a different approach this year at PAX East. I took it easy the first few hours to catch up with fellow press and familiar faces. Like with Pat, these events have become important to me beyond experiencing video games and purchasing merch. The connections I’ve made in the last four years of attending PAX events have all been meaningful and something I look forward to annually.
After spending my hard-earned cash on Limited Run exclusives and PAX East merch, I tagged along with Pat, Ed, and Courtney to play various demos.
The highlight; however, had to be the Wicked Pissah Games panel. I was invited to participate as a panelist alongside Bryan Lally, Mike O’Leary, Brendan Groom, Noris Sola, and Brian Thomas. We all represented the “Bostonian experience” and discussed what constitutes as a Boston game. We tossed around a few suggestions like Assassin’s Creed III, Disco Elysium, Rocket League, and Cuphead. The turnout and audience participation was fantastic, and I was surprised which title won “The Most Boston Game”. Sorry, no spoilers! You just had to be there.
