High Profile horror title from Bloober Team The Medium is looking to be headed PlayStation 5’s way apparently some time soon. Having launched this past January as an Xbox Series X|S exclusive (and, by extension, PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store), The Medium has been rated for release on the PlayStation 5 by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (better known as the ESRB).

The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that was well-received at launch receiving high scores from Gamespot, IGN, PC Gamer, and TechRadar. In the game, players take control of Marianne, a medium who can travel into the spirit realm. The Medium uses Marianne’s capabilities of inhabiting both worlds as a way to solve puzzles as well as fighting off hostile supernatural forces.

Koch Media, publisher for The Medium, announced plans last March of releasing physical editions of the game, but did not specify what platforms it might appear on. Prior to this announcement, many had expected the game to remain exclusive to Microsoft’s platform for longer than one year. The Medium did receive premium treatment on Xbox Game Pass as a Day One download.
