This is not a drill.
According to Konami’s official Silent Hill website, and their Twitter page, a showcase detailing everything happening with the Silent Hill franchise will be livestreamed in a showcase on October 19th at 2:00pm PDT.
Rumors have become rampant as of late, with a movie currently in the works by director Christophe Gans, who directed the first film. He’s gone on quite a few interviews speaking on the project, and has revealed that there are multiple Silent Hill games currently in the works.
“I’m working with the Silent Team, the original creators at Konami, there are several games in development as we speak, there are several teams on it, with a big line of games, they will revive the franchise, I think they were really impressed of the success of the remakes of Resident Evil that are evidently exceptional games,” Gans said.

One rumored title is a Silent Hill 2 remake being developed by Bloober Team, who recently developed Medium for the Xbox Series S/X and Playstation 5. Konami’s first party studios are also rumored to be working on a mainline title, and another rumored episodic series of games being developed by Annapurna Interactive.
None of these stories have been confirmed, however hopefully these rumors will be finally put to rest come October 19th.
The last we ever heard of a new title in the series was PT, a Hideo Kojima-developed demo back in 2014 that scared the wits out of many who played it. That was slated to become Silent Hills. Konami canceled the project, delisted the title in the Playstation Store, and gave Hideo Kojima his walking papers. The last mainline title was Silent Hill Book of Memories for the Playstation Vita in 2012.
