Boss Rush Banter: Who’s Your Most Desired Character for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl?

Earlier this week, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, a new party fighting game featuring popular (and not so popular) Nickelodean characters was announced. Upon launch, there’ll be 20 themed levels, a single player mode, and a multiplayer mode. The sudden announcement came as a surprise to gaming fans all over, and people have received the news quite well, even speculating over characters that could be added to the games. Watch the trailer below.

So far, there are 14 confirmed characters, here’s who we have so far:

  • Michelangelo (TNMT)
  • Leonardo (TMNT)
  • SpongeBob (SpongeBob Squarepants)
  • Patrick Star (SpongeBob Squarepants)
  • Sandy Cheeks (Spongebob Squarepants)
  • Nigel Thornberry (Wild Thornberries)
  • Reptar (Rugrats)
  • Helga (Hey Arnold!)
  • Powdered Toast Man (Ren & Stimpy)
  • Zim (Invader Zim)
  • Lincoln Loud (The Loud House)
  • Lucy Loud (The Loud House)
  • Oblina (Aahh!! Real Monsters)
  • Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom)

Now, we all know that Helga can throw a mean no look punch when someone’s wheezing over her shoulder, and we know Sandy Cheeks can karate chop like no other, but who else are we looking forward to in this hilarious collection of characters?

For me, there’s three characters I’d love to see join the brawl:

Spunky (Rocko’s Modern Life)

Growing up, Rocko’s Modern Life was a TV show that I eagerly awaited for everyday at 5:30 PM, and Rocko’s pet Bull Terrier was the star of the show for me. Spunky spent his days getting stuck in the garbage compactor, eating the Bighead’s salmon bushes, and eating toenails. This hilarious little guy would be a great addition as a fighter who would be easy to use, yet difficult to master.

Special Move: Dog Odor: A cloud of disgusting odor that poisons the enemy.

Quailman (Doug)

Quailman is the imaginary superhero who wears his underwear over his pants, a belt on his head, and hails from the planet Bob. Quailman was my go-to Halloween costume when I was in college, so his legacy deserves to be better carried through this game than the guy running around Umass with a belt on his head. This superhero has the power of flight, intelligence, and the ultimate power move “Quail Eye” through which he shoots hypnotic beams from his eyes that leave opponents “helpless and stupefied.” Quailman seems a little OP in my opinion, so maybe he could be a final boss in single player mode.

Theme Song: “I Need More Allowance” – The Beets

Olmec (Legends of the Hidden Temple)

Olmec is a pretty unoriginal name, given that he’s based off of “Olmec colossal heads” from the Olmec civilization, but would definitely be an interesting character addition to the roster. Legends of the Hidden Temple was a game show on which six teams (Rise up Blue Barracudas!) competed in different events to pass through the temple. Although the show revolved around the competitors, Olmec was the main character in this show (Sorry Kirk Fogg). Olmec’s job was to explain the rules of each round to the competitors; but now he wants to break free. I think Olmec as a standalone character would be incredible to watch–he’s sick of explaining rules and ready to break them!
