Boss Rush Banter: What is Your Favorite Nintendo Switch Game?

Today, October 20th, is a special day for fans of the Nintendo Switch. Five years ago, Nintendo first announced the successor to the Wii U with an amazing trailer that perfectly captured the unique capabilities of their new hybrid console. Not only did it show exactly what the console could do, flawlessly switching from handheld mode to tabletop mode to TV mode, it also gave us our first glimpse at the games we would be playing soon after launch. Check out the announcement trailer below:

Learning from the disastrously horrible reveal and lifecycle of the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch would go on to reign supreme in the video game world for 33 straight months (until the PS5 just unseated it). The system has released blockbuster game after blockbuster game, which brings us to the question of the day: what is your favorite Nintendo Switch game?

For me, I honestly am having a difficult time picking just one. Currently, I am playing through Metroid Dread, and am absolutely loving it. Having never been a fan of the Metroid series, this is the game that finally showed me how great the series is, and I’m having a blast playing it. Then there’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which, admittedly, I did not like at first, but have since played through it to completion and fell in love with the quiet, dangerous Hyrule presented in that game. Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – there are just too many genre-defining games to pick my favorite one. What about you? Which one is your favorite?
