The amiibo. Nintendo’s ever-expanding line-up of character models fly off the shelves each year during the holidays or around a new game release. Some fans purchase amiibo purely as a collectible, while others determine their worth based on what perks it will grant them while playing the associated game.
Examples of amiibo that released in 2021 include: Banjo and Kazooie, Cat Mario, Cat Peach, Zelda and her Loftwing, Samus and E.M.M.I, the Palamute, Magnamalo, and Palico, and there are sure to be much more in 2022 (Min Min from Arms, and Steve and Alex from Minecraft have been confirmed).
If Nintendo handed you the creative reins, what character would you like to see become an amiibo? Would you prefer someone from a Nintendo IP? Since Kirby is making a comeback with Kirby and the Forgotten Land in Spring 2022, maybe a new iteration of the lovable pink fluff ball could be released. Or perhaps would you recommend a third-party character? For example, Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei V released on November 11, 2021 on the Nintendo Switch. With a successful launch, wouldn’t the Nahobino form of the protagonist you play be incredible to behold? How about a commanding officer from the upcoming Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp by WayForward?

The opportunities for new or revised amiibo models are endless, especially with what appears to be a stacked 2022. What has been your favorite amiibo, and what would your next ideal amiibo be? Let us know your thoughts on our Boss Rush Discord!
