One of the most anticipated games for Xbox Series X|S is Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. When Microsoft acquired Ninja Theory, everyone immediately wanted to see what Senua’s next adventure would look like with an unlimited budget. When it was revealed and then rerevealed at The Game Awards in 2019 and 2021 respectively, there was no doubt that this was the game that would showcase the Series consoles.
In a recent interview with NME, via Pure Xbox, cofounder Tameem Antoniades discussed the studio’s plans for Hellblade 2.
“The goal with Hellblade 2 isn’t to perfect it, but to create an experience that feels more believable and more refined. Its ambition in terms of scale is bigger. I think Hellblade 2 will make Hellblade look like an indie game.”Tameem Antoniades, Cofounder of Ninja Theory, Interview with NME
Ninja Theory artists have scanned over 40 real locations in Iceland to create the most accurate landscapes possible as well as costuming the characters in period authentic clothing. They made a name for themselves with the first game with Melina Jergens’ incredible acting and motion capture, which seems to have been taken to the next level for the sequel.
