The Top Five Overwatch 2 Maps

If you’ve clocked a ton of hours on Overwatch 2, you’ve probably grown to love or hate certain game modes or maps as you continue to play the game.

My friends convinced me to give Overwatch 2 a chance during its launch in 2022. I didn’t think I would continue to play, but since then, I’ve become addicted despite simultaneously suffering. There are a few maps I’ve come to enjoy and look forward to whenever I log in. Here are the top five maps that I call my favorite:

1. Lijiang Tower (Control)

Lijiang Tower is both gorgeous and extremely fun. Whenever I’m on this map, there ends up being three rounds almost every time for some reason. I don’t mind because Night Market, Garden, and Control Center are all enjoyable to navigate with many opportunities for interesting team fights.

2. Busan (Control)

Playing in Busan is usually 50/50. I’ve had great games here and ones where I’ve wanted to press Alt+F4 right after the first round, but because this map is so unpredictable that makes it stand out among others for me. You never know what you’re gonna get.

3. Ilios (Control)

You have to admit that an enemy, your teammate, or even yourself falling into the Ilios well is a little funny. If you main any hero that can get environmental kills, then you most likely enjoy loading into Ilios. This place is Lucio’s playground.

4. Junkertown (Escort)

I prefer attack on Junkertown. However, either side can become difficult depending on the teams. Other than King’s Row, Junkertown is where you’ll encounter Widowmaker players having a field day. I like this map because it’s a fun challenge for both sides.

5. Route 66 (Escort)

Route 66 gets a spot here simply because it’s the one map where I’ve successfully back-capped multiple times and it’s hilarious. Back-capping as Zenyatta here shouldn’t have been possible, but the checkpoint was gained anyway. In addition to my sneaky plays here, Route 66 has a lot of nice high ground and cover that’s saved me more than once. It also gets extra points for the cool diner spawn.

Notice how there’s no push maps listed. Take that however you want. Depending on what heroes you main, your preference for attack/defense, or favorite game modes, the best maps on Overwatch 2 will be different for everyone.

Do you think a map deserves a spot on this list? Tell us in the comments or in the Boss Rush Discord.
