It’s been nearly two months since the release of Madden 24. It’s crazy how time flies right?

But that’s ample time to have gotten a good feel for the video game and see how well EA performed in its newest entry to the popular series. So far it’s received some mixed reviews, but it can’t be denied the company certainly retooled the game.

After years of pleading, the developers have heard the call of fans and brought back some beloved features like Superstar Mode, Mini-Camps, and even putting the refs back on the field during the plays. 

We appreciate the trip down memory lane that the video game mogul put us on, but in a grass-is-always-greener mentality, we can’t help but think, “Yeah that’s cool, but it would’ve been awesome if they put this in”.

So this got us thinking, what other features do you wish they’d bring back in Madden?

When it comes to gameplay, I miss when they had helmet-flying tackle animations and the button-fighting for fumbles. On offense, although it isn’t everyone’s favorite, I liked the QB cone-vision as it was a unique feature that made the game stand out. 

For Franchise, I wish developers would bring back the radio show commentating they used to have with Tony Bruno when you’re on the Franchise home page. I want to hear a sports analyst’s excitement when he reads out that my team broke the NFL single-season passing record or the frustration when he criticizes my QB for having a five-interception day. Not that I’ve ever thrown five picks in a game before of course…

I do love that developers included contract restructuring options with your players, but I do wish they’d go one step further and bring back the player holdouts. They were so frustrating that you almost loved them! 

And if I’m going down this road already, I can’t help but ask to find a way to do what 2K has been doing for years and give the Madden fans a way to play as historic teams. Is it too much to ask as a New York Jets fan to play with their only Super Bowl-winning roster??
