Folks, this is not a drill.
Hot on the heels of the successful Mario movie, Nintendo released a statement that they are now shifting their attention to a Legend of Zelda film. However, unlike with The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this Zelda adaptation will be live action.
Wes Ball will direct the movie, and both Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad are confirmed to produce this project in this collaboration. Arad is known for launching the live-action Spider-Man films, as well as other Marvel IP like Venom and Iron Man. Nintendo will finance more than half the project with the support of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
