Look, we all know what we’re watching when it comes to The Game Awards.
This event does take time to honor games from the past year, but the event is much more about the announcements than the awards. In many cases, the announcements overshadow the awards completely.
This may annoy some and other may love all the announcements. While I would love to see a designated award show that honors the past year in gaming, I would be lying if I said I didn’t get excited for some of the announcements.
Which announcements were your favorite from this year’s The Game Awards.
I had two: the new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the reveal of Visions of Mana.
Square Enix has done a great job at marketing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as a game that tugs at your nostalgia while giving you a modern and gorgeous presentation.
The latest installment in the Remake trilogy looks to cover some monumental moments from the original game. Fans got a good look at many of the characters that weren’t in the first game while also getting peeks at other some iconic scenes.
This was a great trailer for any Final Fantasy VII fan and has many, including myself, excited at what is to come with this game.
The other exciting announcement was the Visions of Mana reveal. This is the first new console game in a while and it looks like a blast.
My first introduction to the Mana series was the Trials of Mana remake. I absolutely loved my minimal time with the game and plan to return soon to it. This made me really interested in the series.
A new game releasing next year provides a great chance to get into the series as it adjusts to modern gaming. I love the art style and I am hoping for a great time.
There was a lot announced during The Game Awards and everyone will have their own preferences. There are even a few DLCs that I’m interested in with Final Fantasy XVI and God of War: Ragnarok.
So which announcement was your favorite? Was there a particular trailer that got you really excited? Let us know in the comments below or head over to our Discord channel to join the conversation.
