The 2024 Bossies, the second annual presentation of the awards, has its nominees for PlayStation Game of the Year.

The Bossies is an award show the Boss Rush Network hosts that is a celebration of video games and entertainment. The event is not beholden to announcements and trailers, rather votes come directly from the community.

The award show aims to feature games and entertainment that deserves recognition as the Boss Rush team highlights the best of the year, including content the industry may have overlooked.

Furthermore, the Boss Rush team has partnered many from around the industry who are big fans of gaming and entertainment. These include Indie developers, game publishers, and content creators.

The 2024 Bossies nominations for PlayStation Game of the Year are:

Astro Bot by Team ASOBI: Astro Bot is a full-size, standalone platformer that sees the titular Astro set out to find parts for his PlayStation 5 mothership while combatting the space bully Nebulax. Similar to past installments, this game draws heavy inspiration from PlayStation’s history, releasing as part of the console’s 30th anniversary.

Helldivers II by Arrowhead: Helldivers II follows up 2015’s Helldivers, bringing the world of the third-person cooperative shooter to the current era. The game is a direct sequel that follows an elite force of shock troops called the Helldivers as they fight various threats in the 22nd Century. The game leans heavily into environmental storytelling.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth by Creative Business Unit 1 and Square Enix: The second entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is a direct sequel that follows Cloud Strike and company after leaving Midgar. The action RPG opens up the world from the previous game and takes the crew to various familiar locations.

Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team: This remake brings the 2001 game of the same name to the modern era, reimagining Team Silent’s original title. The game follows James Sunderland as he returns to the town of Silent Hill after he gets a letter from Mary, his dead wife, as she waits for him.

Black Myth: Wukong by Game Science: This action RPG is the first console game from Chinese developer Game Science. It draws heavy inspiration from the Chinese novel Journey to the West. It follows Sam Wukong, who ascends to Budhahood only to reject the life in the Celestial Court.

While voting has closed for the 2024 Bossies, you can still tune in on Thursday, Jan. 16 to see which PlayStation game takes home the award. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. EST with a pre-show while the main event begins at 9 p.m. EST. Catch the event on YouTube.
