Boss Rush Banter: Should You Pull for Chiori?

Chiori is a recently released limited five star character from Genshin Impact. Whenever a new character is introduced, the question of whether or not they are worth the pulls gets brought up. So, is she worth the pulls? In order to know the answer, we must first learn about Chiori.

Chiori is a Geo sword unit that comes from the nation Inazuma, though her current residence in game is Fontaine. Her banner will continue to run until April 2nd, allowing players to pull her if they wish. In order to pull Chiori, players will need to gather primogems and convert them into Intertwined Fates. Primogems can be gained in various ways, the most common and easiest way being exploration or quests. There will also be events throughout the 4.5 update that players can complete to gain even more primogems.

To make an informed choice on pulling Chiori, it is important to understand her as a unit. As a Geo character, Chiori would not be able to create any reactions except for Crystallize. Crystallize is not a strong reaction in the game, only providing a weak shield for the active character. With this in mind, Chiori would be best suited for Mono-Geo teams. Chiori’s skill allows her to summon her doll, Tamoto, with another Tamoto being summoned if a Geo construct is created. In addition to summoning Tamoto, Chiori will dash forward with an AOE Geo attack. The summoned Tamoto’s will attack occasionally with AOE Geo Damage attacks that are based upon Chiori’s ATK and DEF stats. Only two Tamoto’s can exist together at a time. Depending on Chiori’s current ascension level, her normal attacks will also become Geo-infused after the use of her skill.

With a Mono-Geo team, Chiori can perform to her best self. However, she does great in other teams as well. If the player has Navia, Chiori can buff Navia as Navia gets a boost based upon the Crystallize shards that are picked up by the player. However, this team is not as great as Navia doesn’t create a Geo construct to summon another Tamoto.

Overall, Chiori is a good unit if the player already plays with and prefers Geo characters. If the player doesn’t enjoy playing Geo, then it would be best to skip Chiori and go for a different character. That being said, pull for whoever you would like to for whatever reason you want. Chiori is not a character that I would personally pull for, as I don’t play Geo characters often.
