The long awaited sequel to 2017’s metroidvania indie darling Hollow Knight has been confirmed for a 2025 release, according to today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.
In a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” section during the third-party sizzle reel portion of the Direct, Hollow Knight: Silksong was showcased for a few seconds, with a “2025” release date attached.

Fans of the original game have been clamoring for news of the sequel ever since it was first revealed over 6 years ago. In the game, players control Hornet–princess and protector of the Hallownest–as she adventures through a brand new kingdom that is dominated by both silk and song.
While no other new information was given about the upcoming title, the 2025 release date should indicate that fans won’t have to wait long for details to arrive, as well as the game itself.
