Microsoft has teased the next generation of the Xbox family of consoles on their social media pages.
Titled “Project Helix,” the console is expected to operate as a living room PC, following remarks by newly appointed CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Asha Sharma.
The current generation of home consoles, the Series X and Series S, both debuted in November, 2020. Analysts have long predicted that both Sony and Microsoft would be at the very least releasing information about their next consoles either this year or in 2027, as console generations typically last between 6-7 years.
Xbox has also just recently released alongside Asus the ROG Xbox Ally, which is a handheld gaming computer device similar to the Steam Deck. The machine focuses on Xbox Game Pass and first-party gaming software, as well as optimizations towards Windows 11.
Microsoft has yet to offer any further details, including a date in which more information may be shared.
This is a breaking story, and more information may be added as it is revealed.
