During the Nintendo Direct in February, fans rejoiced as a Nintendo Switch Sports, the long awaited sequel to Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, was revealed, bringing back old favorite events as well as a few new ones. New customizable characters replaced the iconic Miis, but all of the charm and competition still held true to those Wii titles. Nintendo has already confirmed soccer, volleyball, tennis, badminton, and chambara will be available available at launch with golf confirmed for a fall update.
In a recent datamine, however, revealed by Twitter user Wipeoutjack7 and miner ToyConGarageVR, it seems more sports will be added in future updates. in the datamine, basketball and dodgeball have been found in the code. You can see in the Tweet below:
Now this could just be old code that they couldn’t get right, as suggested in the tweet, but looking at Nintendo Switch Sports as a game that constantly updated with new sports and minigames would make for a surefire hit long after the game is out.
