Originally slated for release May 24, 2022, Luminous Productions took to Twitter today to announce that Forspoken was getting pushed back to October 11, 2022. The studio explained the reason for the delay boiling down to a need for more time to work on the game and deliver the promise of the vision they have for this fantasy genre RPG.

The five-month delay is sure to disappoint many gamers who are looking forward to a new RPG adventure from Square Enix but the development team stated an assurance that “getting it right is extremely important to us”, and they will use the extra time to “focus all of our efforts on polishing the game”.
