The 2022 Game Developers Conference is currently underway and the good fellows at Push Square were able to attain some exciting news pertaining to Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR2. If you had been hoping to hear more news about PSVR2, this may be your week.
A GDC presentation from Unity promises to explore PSCR2’s “improved graphics performance and cutting-edge hardware”. The briefing, titled “Building Next-Gen Games for PSVR2 with Unity”, is scheduled to take place on March 24th. GDC presentations are typically targeted at developers, but this will be a great chance to uncover more about the headset’s possibilities.
Push Square also speculates that with Unity hosting the presentation, there’s a strong possibility that the new peripheral may feature in other presentations during the convention.
Sony’s next-gen PSVR2 headset currently does not have a release date nor a price point, and very little information outside of a brief look at both the hardware and controllers has been given.
GDC is an event for professionals in the gaming industry so we’d advise you not to expect a lot in way of reveals or even game trailers. The industry-focused convention is geared mainly to explore tech and innovations so expect PSVR2 to be on display to highlight the functionality and features of the headset.
GDC 2022 is in progress now and ends on Friday, March 25th.
As more information surrounding Sony’s PSVR2 comes available, we here at Boss Rush will make sure to keep you updated!
