Fortnite’s Icon Series is set to add Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo skins and some accessories to complete the NBA player’s set.
Epic Games announced the set will be available at 7 p.m. EST Saturday, Dec. 24 in the item shop. Antetokounmpo’s addition to Fortnite joins a wide array of NBA-themed skins dating back to 2021, including Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James.
The announcement indicated Antetokounmpo will be available in two separate skins: the Giannis Antetokounmpo outfit and the Hoplite Giannis Outfit. There will be an opportunity to purchase the two skins in a bundle.
The standard outfit features Antetokounmpo in more traditional gear while the Hoplite outfit hails to the NBA star’s heritage. Antetokounmpo is of Greek and Nigerian heritage.
The standard outfit will have the ability to change colors once the skin hits 100 shield. This customization trait, however, is unique to the standard skin and not the Hoplite version.
Along with the new skins, there will be additional perks, including:
- Wings of Victory Back Bling, included with the Giannis Antetokounmpo Outfit;
- Hashmark Hatchet Pickaxe;
- Victory in Flight Glider, pairing this with the Wings of Victory Back Bling changes the glider into the Back Bling;
- Ankara Print Wrap;
- Mask of Yoruba Spray, which is included in the Giannis Antetokounmpo Bundle;
- Dunk Buckler Back Bling, which is included with the Hoplite Giannis Outfit;
- Diamond Doru Pickaxe; and
- Warm-Up Emote
Fortnite is an online video game with three distinct modes. These modes include Fortnite: Battle Royale, a free-to-play last-man standing contest; Fortnite: Save the World, a co-op tower-defense and survival game; and Fortnite: Creative, where players can create arenas and worlds.
Battle Royale has become the most popular of the series and is available, along with Creative, on all major consoles as well as PC gaming. Save the World is only available on PC as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
