Warhammer: Age of Sigmar’s Skirmish Wargame Warcry’s New Starter Set pits Stormcast Eternals Against Vampires

Skirmish wargames present smaller-scale battles where every unit counts and, indeed, every unit is often a character in their own right. They tend to play faster, and feature much more focused rules and games.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Warcry is, as the name suggests, the skirmish variant of Games Workshop’s Age of Sigmar setting, the alternative to the classic Warhammer Fantasy.

Warcry: Crypt of Blood is a small-scale starter set designed for new players. It contains two smaller warbands, the golden-armored Stormcast Eternals of Xandire’s Truthseekers and the vampire nobles of the Crimson Court.

Warcry: Crypt of Blood includes a double-sided 30″ x 22″ paper game board, and six pieces of terrain that showcase the gloomy crypt, a 72-page Crypt of Blood book with the complete core rules and lore, seven battleplans unique to this box set, 18 dice, and a token board with a range ruler and 63 tokens to track wounds and activations.

Games Workshop no longer credits model designers and painters by name. This is unacceptable. As the creative force that keeps the company running, the artists responsible deserve full, clear, and public credit.

While no specific release date has been announced, Warcry: Crypt of Blood is expected to release relatively soon.
