Boss Rush Banter: Farming Sims That Are Worth Their Price

If you haven’t had a chance to read my review of Fae Farm, then you didn’t see where one of the biggest issues I had with the game is the cost.

Long story short, at it’s current cost of $60 on the Switch and $40 on Steam, Fae Farm is not worth the price that Phoenix Labs is charging. Sadly in an over saturated market, farming sims need to stand out.

Sure, Fae Farm does. But not necessarily for the right reasons.

That being said, it’s no secret that I love playing Farming Sims and love exploring the different spins that game developers put on the genre. Enjoy benefiting from my research with these farming sims that are worth the price.

  1. Coral Island

This is a game I’ve followed since it was on Kickstarter. It caught my attention back then and I happily backed it alongside some of my friends.

Currently on Steam, Coral Island is still in Early Access. But despite this, there is a lot of content to explore. And they are adding new items frequently.

Right now, Coral Island runs $24.99 and is well worth that price. I’m excited to see this game grow and improve and see what the team at Stairway Games has in store for us.

2. Roots of Pacha

Another Kickstarter find for me. A pair of friends and I have happily lost ourselves in this world as we explore all of the mechanics.

The mine system in this game is unlike anything I’ve seen and so far I’ve had some of the most fun I’ve had in mines in this game.

There’s so much content here and I feel like I’ve only started to scratch the surface on what it has to offer.

Like Coral Island, Roots of Pacha is on Steam. It also runs for $24.99.

3. Stardew Valley

Anyone who plays Farming Sims knows that no list about farming sims can be complete without mention Stardew Valley.

Perhaps one of the greatest farming sims to come out in the last decade, this game has set the standard for the genre.

What’s more, this game is still being updated. Concerned Ape recently revealed plans for more content.

At only $14.99, this game is a steal on Steam.

I know I missed some good bargains. If you have suggestions I’d love to hear them! Please share your thoughts with us on our Boss Rush Facebook Group or our Boss Rush Discord!
