Romancing various characters is a staple of the Farming Sim genre. Over the years different games have adopted their own versions and lore.
Fae Farm is no exception. While there are aspects that are common across the genre, there are few things that stick out.
In my review of the game, I go into details about some of my problems regarding the romance system as it stands. But, if you are adventuring into Azoria and want to get a feel for how to work the romance system, here’s a guide for you.
- Talk with the Datable NPCs

The first and easiest step is to start talking to the dateable characters. Like all the other townspeople you can befriend, you work from acquaintances to friends.
But unlike other townspeople, the datable characters will shift into flirting. I didn’t notice a solid metric for this, some did it faster than others.
Once you get them to flirting, you can move to the next step.
2. Go on Dates

Each datable character has five dates you can go on. They’re in different locations every time.
But unlike a lot of farming sims, you don’t have to go to that particular location. Instead you find the person and when you talk to them, you get the option to go on the date.
3. Propose

I’m not sure how I triggered this to be honest. When I came over to talk to Pyria, I was just coming to chat because I happened across her.
Once you go on the fifth date, there has to be a metric. Unlike most farming sims, that isn’t visible (no hearts system).
Perhaps I boosted it with some quests (see the second option down). But I shifted from dating to getting serious and then this option arrived. So I selected it and suddenly we were engaged.
4. Buy A Marriage License
I still find it hilarious that a game that is centered around bringing fantastical elements to a farming sim has the most mundane marriage process I’ve seen.
No magical feather, no talisman, nothing special. Just 10 thousand Florians and you have your wedding scheduled.
5. Attend Your Wedding

As you get up, you’ll suddenly change into your wedding outfit (you get to choose when you pay for the license).
Then you are transported to Town Hall for your wedding. After which, you’ll find yourself back home in the afternoon.
And that’s it! As I’ve mentioned in this review, the metrics for how to get here aren’t as clear as they are in most games in the genre. You have to feel your way for where you are with various romantic options.
